Overview
We process personal data only where it is needed to run this website and to answer your requests. This website sets no cookies, shows no ads, uses no cross-site tracking, and serves its fonts from our own domain.
Hosting and delivery
This website is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, Cloudflare processes the technical data needed to deliver it and to protect the site from attacks: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the requested address, the referring page and your browser's user agent.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and reliable website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). Details are in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Contact form and email
When you write to us through the contact form or by email, we process the details you provide: your name, email address, optionally your company, the topic and your message. We use them only to answer your request.
If your request relates to a contract or to steps before entering one, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; otherwise it is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Messages from the form are delivered through Cloudflare Email Routing to our mailbox, which is hosted byTODO Your email provider, e.g. Google Workspace. We delete your message once your request is resolved, unless statutory retention periods, for example for business correspondence under German commercial and tax law, require us to keep it longer.
Spam protection with Cloudflare Turnstile
The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people and automated bots apart. Turnstile loads only on the contact page. It evaluates signals from your browser and device, including your IP address, which Cloudflare uses to detect abuse and not for advertising.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the form from spam and abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., as described under Hosting and delivery.
Your rights
With regard to your personal data, you have the right to:
- access the data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
- have it corrected (Art. 16 GDPR) or erased (Art. 17 GDPR),
- restrict its processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- receive it in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR),
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR).
To exercise these rights, email TODO@smartargs.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
Changes
We update this policy when the website or the legal requirements change. The current version is always on this page.
